Eau de parfum? You say?!

Thursday 31 January 2013

As Coco Chanel stated "A women who doesn't wear perfume has no future" I may not agree with the severity of what Coco Chanel is saying however I believe that a women who doesn't wear perfume doesn't have a signature scent or scents for herself. A lot can be said when it comes to the perfume a women wears from the aroma that it leaves behind as one brushes by, to the brand and also when one decides what perfumes to wear and to what occasion. For myself personally these are the four perfumes that I seem to not get enough of - the whimsical Vera Wang "Princess, the enchanting Chanel "Chance", oh so elegant Chanel "No 5" and the flirtatious Marc Jacobs "Lola." I often have them each selected for different occasions however - Princess is now my everyday perfume, Chance is my going out for a nice lunch or dinner, No 5 is a evening perfume for either a function or certain event and Lola is my going out and partying scent.

Vera Wang "Princess" - A blend of fruit and floral fragrances: Princess captures the numerous scents of apples, water lily, apricot and mandarin. It is then combined with the aroma of pink guava, Tahitian tiare, tuberose and none other then dark chocolate. All finished with vanilla, amber and a underlying scent of wood.

Chanel "Chance" - Extreme freshness is combined with floral undertones and then continues to change with a hint of spice: A mix of pink pepper, lemon and pine apple are all part of the first stage of this magnificent perfume. It then moves into the heart of the fragrance that being hyacinth, jasmine and iris. However the base is made up of amber, patchouli, vetiver and white musk.

Chanel "No 5" - The first scents that waft in the air when this is sprayed are yiang-yiang, neroli and aldehydes also accompanied by jasmine and rose. The true heart of Number 5 is the combination of jasmine, rose, lily of the valley and iris. It is then combined with vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and patchouli to create a truly understated yet signature scent.

Marc Jacobs "Lola" - A mixture of fresh and sweet fruity tones together with the scent of peony and a hint of gorgeous vanilla coming through: The blend of sweet fruits and fresh floral fragrances continues with notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, pear and sandalwood.

If you are looking to expand your perfume collection I highly suggest any one of the above fragrances: Not only to update your scents for every occasion possible but to also add something a little new to your day.
