My own oasis.

A bedroom is an oasis in many aspects where you spend time with yourself whether that is reading, blogging, drawing, listening to music well in all honesty the list is never ending so in my eyes and for some of my readers as well this room should reflect you as a whole; From your loves, passions, talents and dreams it should be able to speak to your guests for you without you having to utter a single word about who you are deep down. My bedroom has evolved and grown as I have, it has matured, it has changed and taken on a new self which along its journey I have as well.

So what has inspired me and my room along the never endless journey that they call life? Well when I saw changes within myself, my room then took on this as well. I came to a stage where I wanted elegance and a very chic space to conjure up my thoughts and inspiration whatever that may be about. I started with a basis where in the entire world do I feel content or where would I believe I would feel content... One place came to my mind Paris! Paris for me has been an obsession and dream sense the first episode of Madeline I finished watching in sheer amazement. The allure that Paris presents to me is magical and truly enchanting, not only that but Paris has helped me personally being my "happy" place when I was having a bad day. The Parisian inspired touches within my room are that of a gorgeous ikea print that hangs over my head to in capture my dreams of Paris, across from my bed on my white chest of draws is "Paris" spelt out in white, stark 3D letters and also the stunning mirrored candle holder in the shape of one of my most favourite buildings the Eiffel Tower and a black and white picture of the Eiffel Tower in the 20's sits pretty beside it.

Who doesn't like to feel calm? Well in my eyes colour = calmness and not only that adds an ambiance to a particular room and that is no doubly why I choose the beige, whites and light gold hues for my bedroom. Not only are all of these colours incredibly chic, elegant and sophisticated but I can say I believe they are me as well. I am a lover and strong believer that finding beauty in the simple things in life is what is special and these colours are that simple and beautiful. Plus I am oh so in love with filigree details and tonnes of gorgeous pillows so when I saw that bedspread I had to have it!

The fact that a bedroom should express who you are as an individual and displays who spends their most prized time within this boudoir always plays on my mind. To me these are the little details within a room such as tiny touches such as a picture, candles, books or simply small decorative items on shelves.   When someone walks into my room who may or may not know me well I would like them to get an automatic sense of who I am and this really should be included in any rooms design aesthetic. So once you walk into my room you get a awareness that I love fashion, travel and interior design and how can one tell this; simply by oberserving my expansive book and magazine collection. One can tell I am head over heels in love with Chanel by the Chanel black box sitting in the corner of my bookcase and the bottle of Chanel N5 bottle on my chest of draws. I recently added an inspiration board that sits daintily on my bookcase, this again displays my loves and passions but also remains true to the name and lets me draw inspiration from it.
