Recipe: Yum Yum Balls

Wednesday 27 February 2013

For some people they are called rum balls but in my family we simply call them yum yum balls because well they are yummy and they don't have any rum in them.  A combination of condensed milk, cocoa powder, milk biscuits and coconut if you wish they are truly tantalising and well I have a theory that if something has condensed milk - You know it is bound to be amazing. Today I am sitting down enjoying the mouth watering delights while reading up on Europe and getting more and more eager to leave with each page I read!

Read on to learn how to make these simple yet tasty treats!

Ingredients:
1 can of condensed milk
250gram packet of milk arrowroot biscuits
2tbsp of cocoa powder
Desired amount of coconut (about 1/2 cup) to coat

Method:
1. Break the milk arrowroot biscuits into a food processor and blitz the biscuits until the biscuits are roughly broken (make sure there is still chunks of biscuits within the processor but do not blend it until it is a fine dust of biscuit)

2. Place the biscuits into a medium bowl, empty the can of condensed milk into the bowl and add the cocoa powder. Mix until well combined, you can add more cocoa powder if desired.

3. Line a container with baking paper and roll evenly sized balls, you can use a teaspoon to scoop the mixture and get the correct amount every time. If you wish roll them into the coconut or simply leave some without. Place into the container.

4. Place in the refrigerator until they have set, to serve either place them upon a plate or in a bowl. Or simply have them as a little treat for yourself.

Enjoy!

Recipe is my own.
